What is the difference between a nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo?

Need some help in this game players! My daughter is becoming 8ys.old and has been begging for a Nintendo DS. She said she wanted a rose. So I checked today and says it is a Nintendo DS Lite. I'm sure you do not know that there is a difference she just likes the color pink! So help me out here, please. What is the difference? Is it better than the other? Could meet both their age?
